Alfa Romeo - Alfa Romeo 2600
The Alfa Romeo 2600, with an all new Alfa Romeo alloy 6 cylinder engine of 2584cc, was introduced at the 1962 Geneva Motor Show. The 2600 Berlina was the saloon built to carry 6 people. The 2600 Sprint was an elegant Bertone bodied car designed for carrying 4 people, which was uprated for 1966. The 2600 Spider, with bodywork by Touring was a 2+2 convertible, but also offered with a removable hard top. These bodies mimicked to a large extent what had come before, with the Alfa Romeo 2000. There was also the 2600 Sprint with Bertone bodywork which was the coupe option. And let us not forget the rare Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint Zagato. In late 1965 an Alfa Romeo 2600 De Luxe was unveiled with bodywork by OSI designed for low volume production, built during 1966 and 1967. Alfa Romeo 2600 production continued to 1968.
Tyre size for Alfa Romeo 2600 (whether Berlina, Spider or Sprint) was the millimetric 165R400, and Blockley is one of the very few companies that produces this millimetric size, with a decent speed rated 165HR400 tyre, built with a steel belt carcass, and the best tyre you can drive on - guaranteed. See full details of this millimetric 165HR400 tyre at the link below, and note that what appears to be the low price of this exceptional tyre is only because of selling our Blockley tyres direct to the end users, and not through the Classic wholesaler tyre trade.
