Alfa Romeo - Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT/GTV
The Alfetta GT 1.6 and Alfetta GTV 2 litre models were built on the chassis of the Alfetta 116 saloon. These GT's also had the rear transaxle and clutch arrangement, starting in 1974. All were 2 door 4 seater type designed by Guigaro at Bertone, and followed in exactly the same order of capacity changes as the Alfetta saloons. This made the order the 1800cc Allfetta GT from 1974 and in 1976 the Alfetta GT1.6 and Alfetta GTV2000 which became in 1979 the Alfetta GTV2000L. In 1980 there was a restyling and the 1.6 litre version no longer available. The car was now simply Alfa Romeo GTV 2.0, and the same year the Alfa Romeo GTV6, a 2.5 litre with the V6 engine (from the Alfa 116 saloon) now with fuel injection, which was very well received.
Tyre size for the Alfetta GT and Alfa Romeo GTV in period was the 165R14 size with the larger engined Alfa Romeo GTV6 having the wider 185/70R14 size. Blockley produces a period correct steel belt high speed rated 165HR14 tyre as well as the wider 185/70VR14 tyre - see full details of both these Alfa GTV tyres at the links below:
