Allard - Allard Palm Beach
The Allard Palm Beach had the new tubular chassis designed by Dudley Hume which was available with either a 1.5 litre 4 cylinder Ford Consul engine (known as the Palm Beach 21C), or Ford Zephyr 2.3 litre six cylinder (called the Palm Beach 21Z), both types available from mid 1952. For 1956 the 4 cylinder 21C version was dropped and the Mk2 Palm Beach was available either with Zephyr power of a 3.4 litre Jaguar unit. Production continued to the end of 1958.
Tyre size for the Allard Palm Beach depended on the model. The 21C fitted with the 1500cc Consul engine, of which very few were built, had 13 inch wheels fitted with 6.40x13 which is radial equivalent 165R13, and if one wanted a wider version (with same diameter one could use the 185/70R13 tyre. Blockley produce both these tyre sizes - see below. Otherwise the Allard Palm Beach was fitted with 600x15 tyres, and for these we would recommend the radial equivalent 185VR15 tyre - see details below. We also have a suitable cross ply as well.
