Alpine Renault - Alpine Renault A310
The Alpine A310 was built from 1971, as the replacement for the A110, and looked very different. These A310 were certainly larger and heavier cars, being a 2+2 yet having little more power available from the 1600cc 17TS engine. So by 1976 the 2664cc V6 was installed, with a 5 speed gearbox fitted as standard from 1978. Production of the 1600 cc cars carried on to 1976, after which the V6 engine was used, with production ending in 1985.
The Alpine Renault A310 tyre size was listed with front tyres 165R13, with rear tyres being the wider (but same diameter) 185/70R13 . Blockley produces both these tyre sizes 165HR13 and 185/70VR13 with high speed ratings - see details below. Many Alpines today have larger tyres fitted with the 185/70R13 front tyre and a larger rear tyre such as 235/60R13 or similar sized 205/70R13.
