Alvis - Alvis Speed 20
The Alvis Speed 20 came about as a result of a meeting between T.G. John of Alvis, and car salesman Charles Follet, with the eventual outcome which guaranteed that Follet would buy a third of Alvis production on condition that Alvis produced a car broadly to the requirements set out by Charles Follet Ltd. All the Speed 20 Alvis were supremely attractive with their lowered frames getting the occupants to sit much lower. Capable of some 90mph from their 6 cylinder engines, using bored out versions of the engine previously in use with the Silver Eagle. So the Speed 20 had a capacity of 2511cc from 1932 to 1934 after which the engine was stroked to 2762cc from 1935. Production of the Speed 20 finished in 1936.
