Alvis - Alvis TF 21
The Alvis TF21 was an updated version of the previous TE (1963 - 1965) became the last car produced by Alvis. Built from 1966 this was the last in the line of the Alvis 3 litre, the engine of which had first been used in the TA21 of 1950. Rover had been working heavily with Alvis in various projects and had a controlling interest in Alvis by 1965 ,when the Alvis TF21 was launched.
Back in 1950 the original Alvis 3 litre engine gave 83hp on Solex carburettors and 93hp on twin SU's, but 16 years later the Alvis 3 litre engine had been coaxed to 150hp for the TF21, which meant the TF21 was capable of 127 mph. But in 1967 production of all Alvis motor cars ceased, with Alvis deciding to concentrate on military vehicle production.
