Aston Martin - Aston Martin DB2

The Aston Martin DB2 was available from 1950, using the W.O.Bentley designed 2580cc twin cam engine which had been designed for the Lagonda and part of the Lagonda assets that David Brown got when he bought the Lagonda concern. This engine was then used in the Aston Martin chassis. This 105bhp engine had a Vantage tune option giving 120bhp, with bigger carburettors higher compression and different camshafts, which pushed the top speed to just over 120mph. The cars were successful at Sportscar racing and did well at Le Mans in 1950 and 1951. This was the first model of Aston Martin to carry the DB (David Brown) prefix. DB2 production carried on to 1953.

Aston Martin DB2 original tyre size was 6.00x16. We would recommend either the fantastic handling radial equivalent 185VR16 Blockley, or for those wanting a cross ply tyre, the 550L16 size is used regularly, this L section tyre being perfect on the DB2 with it's period correct looks.
