Audi - Audi 100
In late 1968 Audi announced the new C1 Audi 100, the number 100 nominally denoting the horsepower of the 4 cylinder 1800 cc engine. This was a 4 door saloon producing about 80 hp, while in the following year a 2 door version was also built, followed by a fastback called the Audi100 Coupe S. All three variations of the Audi 100 were on the same chassis. For 1973 the cars got a new and more up to date squared up look along with an altered rear suspension.
For 1976 the Audi 100 was extensively restyled, now fitted with a 5 cylinder engine under the bonnet, with these new Audi 100 models now being referred to as the C2. These Audi 100's, with various engines and power outputs were built until 1982.
Audi 100 tyre sizes:
Audi 100 tyre size was originally 165R14 (for models such as Audi 100 , Audi 100LS and Audi 100GL), but the 2 door Audi S Coupe were fitted with the wider 185/70R14 tyre size.
The Audi 100 models made from 1976 to 1982 (known as the C2) also had the 165R14 size, the only exception being a couple of models in 1982 that were fitted with the wider 185/70R14 size.
The Audi 100 built from 1982 to 1991 (known as the C3), all had the 185/70R14 size on 6J rim.
Blockley produces every tyre size used for the Audi100 range, with the high speed rated, steel belt construction 165HR14 and the wider (but same diameter) Blockley 185/70VR14, both with period correct tread patterns, which will improve the handling of the cars - guaranteed.
