Autobianchi - Autobianchi Primula
Fiat became a full shareholder in Autobianchi in 1968 after being a part owner since 1955, so there was a close collaboration. The he really special thing about the Autobianchi Primula was that it was a test bed for Fiats front wheel drive system used for future Fiat designs. This was Dante Giacostas ground breaking front wheel drive design using a transverse engine, which became not only the method for the later 128 Fiat, but became the way forward for all future front wheel drive design, as used by Audi, Volkswagen and others. The Autobianchi Primula was built from 1964 to 1970.
Tyre size for the Autobianchi Primula was 145R13. Blockley produces the perfect example of this 145R13 tyre which offers handling unlike anything else available - see full details at the link below. Anyone wanting a slightly larger tyre can fit the 155R13 size.
