Bond - Bond Bug
The earlier Bond 3 wheeler Minicar which was produced in various guises from 1949 to the late 1960's were updated in 1970 by the wedge shaped Bond Bug. Bond was looking for something sportier and Tom Karen of Ogle Design had already done some wedge shape designs that appeared too radical even for Laurie Bond at the time. But for 1970 the new all orange car was launched. The engine was the 700cc Reliant, increased later to 740cc which had the same overall straight line performance as the Mini. The Bond Bug 750 was launched in 1970 but not long after in 1974 Reliant ceased its production to free up capacity to built their new Reliant Robin.
