Bond - Bond Equipe GT4S
Bond made their Equipe GT4S in 1963, in association with Standard Triumph, and GT4S being the first Bond vehicle to have 4 wheels. The GT4S was based on the Triumph Herald chassis and scuttle, installed with the Spitfire 1147 cc twin carburettor engine, and clothed in Bonds fibre glass body which was designed to incorporate the Herald doors. With front hinging bonnet, as on the Herald, and with a fast back body style, it was a genuine 2+2 body. For 1967 the renamed Bond GT4S 1300 was fitted with the larger 1296 cc engine, and distinguishable by its twin headlights. The Equipe GT4S was produced up to 1970. The Bond Equipe GT was also available through the Standard-Triumph showrooms.
Bond Equipe GT4S and Bond Equipe GT4S 1300 were both fitted with the 5.20x13 tyre size originally, which has the radial tyre equivalent size 145R13. We would recommend the Blockley steel belt construction radial tyre size 145R13, with period correct tread pattern which provides exceptional handling - see full details of the Bond Equipe tyre at the link below:
