Bristol - Bristol 404

The Bristol 404 was a fixed head coupe on a short chassis, looking unlike anything that had gone before it, with bodywork designed at Bristol. 18 inches shorter than previous models. The engine was the 100B but with a little more compression to give 5% more power at 105bhp, taking advantage of the higher octane fuels available at the forecourts. As an option there was the 100C engine producing 120bhp which surprisingly few purchasers took up on. And since the 404 was some  3.5 cwt. lighter than the 403 it had  a lively performance.

Additionally another one hundred Bristol 404 chassis were sold to US Bristol agent "Wacky" Arnolt, who had them shipped to Italy for Bertone to put 2 seat bodies on to be sold in the US as Arnolt-Bristol.

Original tyre size on the Bristol 404 was 600x16. We would recommend radial equivalent 185R16. Blockley produces a high speed rated steel belted 185VR16 in a correct period looking tyre - details below. But if you are considering sticking with cross ply tyres call Blockley as we have an excellent tyre for the job, which is an L section 550x16 which is most impressive. See full details of these two tyres below:
