Bristol - Bristol 406
The Bristol 406 started to be delivered to customers in 1958, and although still a 4 seater Bristol went back to using 2 doors. The 406 was intended to be the recipient of the new Bristol 6 cylinder 3.6 engine that had been under development but for various reasons this was not done. But the 2 litre engine was now feeling the pressure competing in a market where most cars in the same bracket had engine of around double the capacity. So for the 406 model the Bristol type 110 engine was developed by boring and stroking the engine to 2216cc to try and eek out some more torque. The chassis stayed much the same with the addition of servo to all 4 brakes and a different method of locating the rear axle.
Original tyre fitment for the Bristol 406 was 600x16. We would recommend the radial alternative of 185R16.
