Bristol - Bristol 410
The Bristol 410 was introduced, as a new Bristol model was every 2 years, in 1967. The power plant remained the same 5211cc Chrysler 318cubic inch V8. The front end of the bodywork had some more alterations to the grill area. Extra work was also carried out on the braking to ensure brake fade was reduced from the disc brakes. Different steel wheels were used on the 410 which had slots in them to allow more cooling air to get to the callipers. The Bristol 410 was the first Bristol model to reduce the wheel size from the previous 16 inches, to 15 inches.
Original tyre fitment for the Bristol 410 was 6.70x15 or the radial 185R15 equivalent size, and we would recommend the Blockley high speed rated steel belt construction period correct looking 185VR15 size, built specifically for these period cars. Many owners also fit the wider alternative tyre size ( which has the same diameter) which is the205/70VR15 size. Blockley can also supply larger tyre sizes for 15 inch wheels should these be required, but the 185VR15 and 205/70VR15 sizes are what we are usually asked for with a Bristol 410. Full details of both these tyres are as below:
