DAF - DAF 44
The DAF 44 was introduced the new 850cc introduced in 1966 alongside the 750cc Daffodil (now renamed Daf 33). The capacity increase to 850cc this time came from a longer stroke, and these engines gave considerably more power. The new Daf was now restyled by Michelotti. Although production of the DAF 44 ended in 1974, they were still available for some time, alongside the short lived Daf 46 model.
The DAF 44 original tyre size was 135R14 which is not a size available any more, so the tyre size to use now is the 145R14 tyre. The Blockley 145R14 is a perfect replacement size, with period correct tread pattern and steel belt construction as fitted to the DAF 55 also. See full details of this tyre below:
