Delage - Delage CO
The Delage Type CO was first listed in 1915, a 6 cylinder which was the largest road car engine in the Delage range to date - a 4 1/2 litre of 80x150mm dimensions. It was also the first production car to be fitted with front wheel brakes - something brought over from their Grand Prix cars of 1914 that pioneered this same feature. The Type CO Delage was listed until 1922, after which it was replaced by the Delage CO2 which continued to be listed to 1924 - this replacement now having an overhead valve version of the 4 1/2 litre engine.
Tyre size for the Delage CO and replacement Delage CO2 was the beaded edge size 895x135, of which Blockley produces the perfect example - see full details at the link below. In fact all 6 cylinder Delage models from the Vintage era, after the introduction of the CO, were fitted from new with this same size 895x135 tyre size.
Any Delage CO or other Delage models of the Vintage era that have been altered to later type wheel rims, when beaded edge tyres became difficult to source, now have the opportunity to get reverted back to original by fitting new rims. Note that the equivalent straight sided tyre size to the original fitment 895x135 is the 33x5 size which we also produce (which we also list below for cars now having the straight sided 23" wheel rims). Alternatively, Blockley produces some 60 sizes of tyres, so will have whatever it is that a car may have been later fitted with, although you should be aiming for the 895x135 beaded edge, or its later equivalent 33x5 straight sided.
