DKW - DKW 3=6 (F91 / F93 / F94)
The DKW 3=6 cars (also referred to as DKW Sonderclasse and DKW 900 as well as the the DKW "Three Six") that were built in the 1950's are called by so many names that it gets very confusing, so much so that DKW changed the way they advertised their own cars eventually as DKW 900.
The 870cc DKW F91 (F prefix meaning Front wheel drive) was made between 1953 and 1955, originally a coupe but later offered as a cabriolet built by Karmann. The F93 also called the Large 3=6 was built from 1956 to 1959, this car having the same wheelbase but a wider track and generally a much larger and taller car. This F93 had the oval front grille for the first time, as opposed to the earlier slats, and retaining the same 870cc 3 cylinder 2 stroke engine. The DKW F94 came in 1957 as a long wheelbase 4 door version. A very pretty DKW Monza was built by a company in Stuttgart between 1954 and 1958. but this halted when the Auto Union 1000 was built, and chassis were no longer supplied.
Although production stopped in 1963, the DKW was built in unmodified form in Argentina until 1969, and in a modified form in Brazil until 1967.
DKW 900 (F91, DKW F93 and DKW F94 ) "Three Six" original tyre size was 5.60x15 which is radial equivalent size 155R15. Blockley makes this steel belt construction, good speed rated period correct 155HR15 tyre, plus a whitewall version of this 155HR15 tyre also. The slightly larger 165VR15 is also suitable.
