Facel Vega - Facel Vega HK 500
The Facel Vega HK 500 , produced from 1958, was a development of the earlier Facel Vega FV and FVS (Facel Vega Sport) which had been in production since 1956. Other than the engine, not much was changed. Initially the HK500 had the same 5.8 litre Chrysler engine as the FVS , but soon after in 1959 the Chrysler became a 6.3 litre as the engines were progressively enlarged by Chrysler. These were coupled either to an automatic or a 4 speed manual gearbox. Disc brakes which had been optional to start with, utilising Dunlop callipers (same as fitted to the D Type Jaguar), became standard equipment from 1962.
The Facel Vega HK500 original fitment tyre was 6.70x15. The Blockley radial 185VR15 size is the radial equivalent, but we have supplied owners with the wider (but same diameter) 205/70VR15 Blockley tyres. See full details of these two tyres below. We also produce a larger 15" tyre (215/70VR15), which we have also been asked for and have supplied.
