Ferrari - Ferrari 250 GT Boano / Elena
Pinin Farina produced a prototype on the long chassis (2.8 metres) for the Geneva show in 1956 which led to so much demand that the bodywork was outsourced to Carrozzeria Boano, and these Ferraris were subsequently known as the 250 GT Coupe Boano. When the Boano factory closed, Felice Marion Boanos son in law Ezio Ellena started Carrozzeria Ellena and carried on with the production. 124 cars were built in total.
The original tyre size for the Ferrari 250 Boano and 250 GT Elena was 600x16 which Blockley produces. The radial equivalent for this tyre size is our Blockley 185VR16. Any car fitted with millimetric wheels would have used the 165R400 size, which was the worlds first commercially available radial tyre.
