Ferrari - Ferrari 250GT SWB
The 2.4 metre short wheel base 250GT Berlinetta (250GT SWB) took over from the longer wheel base Tour de France Berlinetta and first exhibited in Paris late 1959. The 250SWB development was the work of Bizzarrini and Chiti who went on to later develop the 250 GTO. Now fitted with disc brakes all round, the cars built for competition had the alloy bodies, whereas the road cars tended to have the steel bodies. Bodywork design was the work of Pininfarina, and were built at Scagliettis workshop, with the models first race win at Spa in 1960.
