Ferrari - Ferrari 330

The Ferrari 330 models spanned the years 1963 through to 1968, starting off with the Ferrari 330 America. This was to all purposes a Ferrari 250 GT/E but now fitted with a larger capacity 4 litre engine, based on Colombos original V12, but modified as the larger bore size required wider bore centres.

For the following year 1963, the 330 America was replaced with the longer wheelbase 330GT 2+2, based on the chassis of the 275 GTB. Bodied by Pininfarina, it was a blend of many of the bodies made by them previously and was an instant hit. A second Series had single headlights rather than the paired lights, plus other changes such as a 5 speed gearbox replacing the 4 speed and overdrive unit. These cars were built up to 1967 when they evolved into the 365 version.

In the meantime 1967 saw the new models of Ferrari 330 GTC and the open version 330 GTS, again based on the shorter wheelbase 275 with its independent rear suspension and 14 inch wheels. These 330GTC and GTS models were produced until 1968 when they evolved into the 365 versions of the same car.
