Ford - Ford Anglia
The Ford Anglia 100E was built from 1953 (along with the Ford Taunus P1 in Germany) with the 1172cc side valve engine, superseded in 1959 by what was called the "Fourth Anglia", or Anglia 105E, that was built until 1961. With all its new styling also came the all new overhead valve 997cc engine, a much more modern over square engine. Other advanced features to come were a 4 speed gearbox with synchromesh on the top three speeds, as well as the longer stroke 1198cc engine introduced in 1962, called the Anglia 1200. There was also an Anglia estate car with 2 door bodywork. The Ford Anglia continued in production until 1968.
Tyre size for the Ford Anglia was originally 5.20x13, irrespective of whether it was the 100E Ford Anglia (1953 to 1959), the Anglia 105E (1959 to 1968) or the Anglia Super 123E (1962 to 1968). The radial tyre equivalent to this 5.20x13 tyre is the 145R13 tyre size. The perfect steel belted high speed rated 145R13 Blockley tyre is the tallest dimensioned tyre of anything produced today, and therefore as close to the original cross ply size as possible. Nothing made is as good as the Blockley 145R13 - and as with all the Blockley radial range we guarantee that if they are not the best tyres you have ever driven on we will refund! See the details of the Anglia 145R13 tyre at the link below.
For the Ford Anglia Estate car, we have seen a period recommendation for the larger 165R13 tyre size in a French catalogue, so would need advice on to whether this is correct - Blockley produces this 165R13 tyre size also, in any case.
