Humber - Humber Sceptre

The Humber Sceptre was basically a better appointed version of the Hillman Super Minx, with bodywork changes, available from 1963. Originally it was going to be the four door Sunbeam to replace the Rapier model, but the Rapier carried on and did not get replaced, so the car became the Humber Sceptre, among the the Rootes Group arsenal.. The larger 1725cc engine came for the Mk2 Humber Sceptre built between 1965 and 1967, which also had some restyling at the front. The final Humber Sceptre (built from1967 to 1976) had a totally different body, and was the top model of all the brands within the Roots Group.

Tyre size for all models of the Humber Sceptre was 6.00x13 which is radial tyre size equivalent 165R13. Blockley produces a good speed rated period correct looking steel belt construction 165HR13 which will offer great handling - guaranteed. See details below. An alternative slightly wider tyre that could also be used is the 175/70VR13.
