Iso - Iso Grifo

The Iso Grifo was built from 1965 as a GT car, probably the best known of the Iso models, on a shortened version of the Rivolta frame. Bodywork was designed by Giugiaro and built by Bertone, later with a front end restyling in 1970 for the second series Grifo by Marcello Gandini, who was now working at Bertone. The initial cars were fitted with the Chevrolet 327 (5.4 litre) engine. But by 1968 a 7 litre big block Chevrolet 427 was what the Iso Grifo was fitted with, which needed some extra work to fit and handle the circa 430hp (compared to the previous 300hp of the smaller engine). From 1970 an even larger 7.4 litre "454" version of the Chevrolet engine was fitted. Production of the Grifo continued to 1974 when the company closed.

Iso Grifo tyre size was originally 205VR15, but we would suggest fitting the alternative Blockley 215/70VR15 which will also handle better. This was done at Iso when the 7 litre cars were built in any case, when this 215/70VR15 size became available. See full details of this tyre below:
