Jaguar - Jaguar C Type
The Jaguar XK120C was Jaguars first post war competition car, based on the mechanical parts of the XK120, built on a tube chassis. First time out at Le Mans in 1951 and the car won! For 1952 the cars with more streamlined shapes failed to finish due to overheating, and after analysis and further improvements the CType won Le Mans for Jaguar again in 1953. Experience gained was used to build their next competition car, the D type. The CType was the first European competition car to use disc brakes.
Tyre size to use on a Jaguar CType is the cross ply Blockley 600x16, which will handle beautifully. We have supplied these for many cars over many years. For the many replica C types built, and we would suggest the Cross ply Blockley 600x16 we make, but for those insistent on a Radial ply tyre, Blockley also produces the 185VR16.
