Lagonda - Lagonda 3 litre
In 1928 Lagonda made their 3 litre model using their own Lagonda over head valve 6 cylinder engine. Initially 2931cc it was later bored to 3181cc, and was in production until 1933.
Post war, a Lagonda 3 litre was introduced by David Brown starting in 1953, which was the replacement for their earlier 2.6 model. This 3 litre Lagonda had the earlier W.O Bentley designed engine with an enlarged (by 5 mm) bore size which increased the capacity to 3 litres. These 3 litre Lagondas came with the standard Tickford coupe bodywork to start with, which was discontinued for 195, and replaced with 4 door bodywork. The two door Tickford drophead coupe body was available from 1953 to 1957. Lagonda 3 litre production continued to 1958.
Lagonda 3 litre tyre sizes:
- The prewar Lagonda 3 litre tyre size was 525x21 originally, and later on the 600x19 tyre size. Blockley produces both these tyre sizes in an authentic triple stud tread pattern. See full details of these 525x21 and 600x19 tyres below:
- Post war 3 litre Lagonda tyre size was 600x16 originally, which is equivalent to the Blockley radial tyre size 185VR16 which we would recommend - see full details of this 185VR16 tyre below.
