Lanchester - Lanchester 18
The first Lanchester 18 was a 2.5 litre available from 1933. The Lanchester 18 model that replaced it had nothing to do with the previous Lanchester, and was the 2390 cc "New" Eighteen" introduced late in 1934. By mid 1935 Daimler launched a similar " Light 20" but with a larger capacity 2565 cc engine, which also had a longer wheelbase, and this car with the larger engine was then also badged as a Lanchester 18. The Lanchester 18 was produced until 1939.
The Lanchester 18 original tyre size for cars built between 1934 and 1936 was quoted as 550x18. The later Lanchester in Daimler form was quoted with a slightly larger 600x18 tyre size, which Blockley also produces. The later built Lanchester 18's were fitted with smaller 16 inch wheels.
