Lancia - Lancia Aprilia
The technologically advanced Lancia Aprilia was available for sale in 1937 and stayed in production through to 1949. The first of these Lancia Aprilias had V4 overhead camshaft engines of 1352cc built around an alloy cylinder block, which was later enlarged to 1486cc. All of the Aprilia built after the war had the 1.5 litre engine. The Aprilia was a clever modern design with unitary chassis construction (something that Vincenzo Lancia had pioneered) and hydraulic brakes. The rear engined Aprilia was the last Lancia that was penned by Lancia himself. The aerodynamic pillarless 4 door bodywork was designed with input from Farina, as well as using data from experiments carried out at the Turin Polytechnic wind tunnel facility.
Tyre size for the Lancia Aprilia is the 165R400, and Blockley produces the perfect steel belt construction 165HR400 which has the full size diameter. Full details of this millimetric 165HR400 tyre is at the link below.
