Lancia - Lancia Lambda
Vincenzo Lancias ground breaking Lancia Lambda was a revelation with its unitary load bearing body construction, in house independent pillar front suspension, with their narrow angle V4 engines, available from 1922. The Lambda was also an early advocate of front wheel brakes on production cars.
The Lancia Lambda started life using beaded edge tyres, often 765x105, but since this size made today is considerably smaller in diameter compared to what it should be, some fit the Blockley 760x90 to the same rim which is just a little wider. We have also supplied 30x3 1/2 to some Lambdas which seem to have had these wheels from new, and we have supplied 820x120 tyre size on many occasions. Many Lambda owners in times gone by needed to re rim their wheels because of the unavailability and expense of beaded edge tyres, fitting alternative sizes such as 440/450x21, 525x21and 500x20. The later Lambdas with their millimetric 50 centimetre wheel rims were also changed on to sizes like 600x19 - all of which sizes and combinations Blockley manufactures - see full details of the tyres mentioned below. But avoid over tyreing a Lambda, as we see on some cars, as this will spoil the delightful character and looks of any Lambda, and for no advantage.
