Lotus - Lotus Elan +2
The Lotus Elan +2 was available from 1967 as a 2+2, broadening its appeal to customers who wanted something roomier and more spacious. Mechanically it was the same as the other Lotus Elites with the 1558cc Lotus Twin cam Ford based engine. The better appointed version of the Elan+2 was called the Elan+2S , and from 1971 the +2S came as standard with the more powerful larger valve size engine and called the Elan +2S 130. Later on when when a 5 speed gearbox was installed it was called the Elan+2S 130/5. The Lotus Elan +2 continued in production until 1975, a few years longer than the first generation of Lotus Elan.
