Matra - Matra 530

The Matra 530 was the successor to the earlier Matra Djet which Matra inherited as part of the company they bought from Rene Bonnet. The 530 was named after the Matra 530 missile ! The M530A was first shown in 1967, powered by a Ford 1700cc V4, and by 1969 the cars were being sold through the Simca dealership network, which was part of Chrysler. For 1970 the M530LX had some design touches by Giovanni Michelotti, while for 1972 a less expensive version, the M530SX,which had a fixed (not Targa) top and fixed headlights. Production of the Matra 530LX and 530 SX continued to 1973.

Tyre sizes for the Matra 530LX and Matra 530SX were originally : Front tyre 145R14 , and Rear tyre 165R14. Blockley makes both these sizes in good speed rated tyres Front 145R14 and Rear 165HR14.
