Mercedes - Mercedes 280SL
The last of the W113 model, the Mercedes 280SL was introduced in 1967 with the 2.8 litre M130 engine, this being the largest bore that this cylinder block was capable of being taken to. The 280SL was in production into 1971, this being the last "Pagoda" in that series. The 280SL range was also available in 2 door Roadster and 2 door Coupe bodywork.
The tyre size for the Mercedes 280SL was 185HR14, with H (130mph) speed rating, which Blockley manufacture in both standard 185HR14 as well as the whitewall 185HR14 version. These are a superb quality tyre, built at the request of one of the German Mercedes Clubs, with authentic tread pattern and superb handling in wet and dry. For those wishing to fit a wider tyre, Blockley also produce the 205/70VR14 size, which has the same diameter.
