MG - MG TF

The MG TF introduced in 1953 was based on the TD Mk2 and apart from having what looked like the same doors to its predecessor, was a much more modernised version with headlights incorporated into the front wings and lowered grille. MG sales were dropping so something had to be done and the MG TF was the car to hold things together while this was done.  The MG TF started out with the same 1250cc XPAG engine of its predecessor but by 1954 the engine had been bored out to 1466cc , this engine now called the XPEG. With the new engine the car was called the MG TF 1500, giving an extra 6bhp. Production of the MG TF carried on for some 18 moths until the cavalry arrived in the form of the MG A in 1955 !

Tyre size for the MG TF was originally the 550x15 size, but the tyre to fit is the radial equivalent 165R15 size, and Blockley produces the perfect 165VR15 tyre. We also produce a suitable 5.50x15 tyre. See full details below:
