Mini - Mini Clubman & 1275GT
The totally restyled Mini Clubman was made by British Leyland as a replacement for the Riley Elf and Wolseley Hornet, with the new launched Mini Clubman model. These were built from 1970 as either saloon or estate versions, and the choice of engine capacity offered was either 1000cc or 1100cc . In addition there was also the new Mini 1275GT. This 1275GT with the new look (designed by ex Ford man Roy Haynes) is often referred to as a Mini Clubman 1275GT, but it was only ever marketed as a Mini 1275GT. Production of all these Mini models carried on to 1982.
Mini Clubman tyre size was originally either cross ply 5.20x10 or equivalent radial 145R10, as British Leyland switched over from cross ply to radial tyres, but a customer could specify the cheaper cross ply tyres to make a saving on the cost of a new car. The Mini 1275GT was fitted with the radial ply 145R10 from the start. Blockley produces this 145R10 tyre size, and for those wanting a wider version of this tyre (still having the same diameter) we also produce the 165/70R10 tyre size.
