Peugeot - Peugeot 302
The Peugeot 302 was available from 1936 and listed to part way through 1938. The 302 had a 4 cylinder 1758cc engine falling into the French 10hp tax bracket and was available with 3 bodywork options - 4 door saloon, and 2 door with coupe or cabriolet options, all with very streamlined looking bodywork. The Peugeot 302 was also the model that Peugeot distributor Darl'mat created bodies in limited numbers.
The original tyre size for the Peugeot 302 was 130x40, a millimetric tyre using a wheel rim diameter of 400mm. Today there is a dual marked tyre available marked 130/140x40 at a hideous price, and owners of these cars wanting a better handling radial tyre to fit a Peugeot very often fit the alternative Blockley 165R400 radial tyre which has the identical overall width, along with superb handling.
