Renault - Renault Monaquatre
The Renault Monaquatre was the small 1300cc Renault built for the 7 horsepower tax bracket available from 1931 with the type YN. By 1933 there was a 1463cc 8cv version also available which became the only engine size from 1933. The model was updated briefly with the type YN2 which came in a vast choice of bodywork, replaced shortly after by the aerodynamic shaped Renault YN3. Renault Monaquatre production went to late 1935 with the Type YN4.
Renault Monaquatre 7cv and 8cv models were originally fitted with millimetric tyre size 140x40, using a 400mm wheel diameter ( which is 15.75 inches). There is a 130/140 tyre size available today at a huge price, so the alternative is to use a radial 165R400 tyre, and Blockley produces the perfect 165HR400 tyre - full details below:
