Rolls Royce - Rolls Royce Silver Wraith 4 1/4
The 4 1/4 litre Rolls Royce Silver Wraith was the first post war Rolls Royce introduced in 1946. It was derived from the pre war Rolls Royce Wraith of 1939 with it's coil sprung independent suspension, and there was little difference save it being a 9" shorter chassis at 10ft 7inches, as well as changing the prewar overhead valve arrangement to the more efficient Ricardo designed overhead inlet and side exhaust valve arrangement. In that same year 1946 the MkVI Standard Steel Sporting Saloon Bentley also became available and this Bentley was based on a shorter chassis version of the Silver Wraith, with engine of the same capacity.
Original tyre size for the Rolls Royce Silver Wraith was 650x17. There is nothing of any quality available in this 17 inch size, in our opinion, which is why we produced our Blockley 600/650x17 size after we had been asked to do so, as well as needing this size ourselves. See full details of this high quality robust 17" tyre, suitable for the later Rolls Royce Wraiths, at the link below.
