Rover
A former cycle company, Rover started making cars in 1904 with many single, 2 and 4 cylinder cars (and a sleeve valve) built before the first war. After the 1914-18 interruption Rover developed their earlier 12/14 and their models were generally cars of not overly large capacity (although they had tried unsuccessfully a 3 1/2 litre six cylinder in 1923). After 1933 there were various models ranging from 12hp to 20 hp rating, which continued to 1948 and later came the more well known Rover P3, P4 and P5 derivatives, before the 3500 P6's and replacement 2200SC and 2200TC's. See models listed below and details of the tyre sizes they were fitted with originally.
In addition to the various Land Rover types, the Range Rover was introduced in 1973, which are dealt with elsewhere on the Blockley website.
