Rover - Rover prewar models
Rover was a prolific manufacturer producing a vast array of models starting in 1904. Listed below are some of the prewar Rover car models and their original tyre sizes in case these are useful for current owners of these cars, while all these sizes are available from the large range of Blockley tyres, as well as the thicker butyl bespoke inner tubes to suit, which are sized correctly:
- Rover 6hp (1906 - 1912 covering single cylinder 780cc, twin cylinder 812cc and single cylinder 795cc) tyre size was 700x80 which is the same tyre as 26x3.
- Rover 20hp (1908- 1910) tyre size 815x105
- Rover 12hp (1909 to 1910) tyre size 760x90
- Rover 18hp (1912 to 1913) tyre size 820x120
- Rover 6/21 six cylinder (1923) tyre size 820x120
- Rover 9/20 (1924 to 1927) tyre size quoted 27x4.40 which is our 450x19 tyre size.
- Rover 14/45 (1924 to 1928) had tyre size 32x5.25 which is a 525x22, so any cars will have different wheels now!
- Rover 16 (1927 to 1932) with 2 litre overhead valve engine, had tyre size 29x500 which is 500x19.
- Rover 10/25 (1928 to 1933) had tyre size 450x18.
- Rover 16/50 (1926 to 1929) again had a 22 wheel size, so will have different wheels now.
- Rover 20 (1931) had tyre size 28x5.25 which is 5.25x18 tyre size while the successor Rover Meteor 20 (1931 to 1933) had 5.50x18 tyres.
- Rover Pilot 12 (1932) had tyre size 4.75x18
- Rover Pilot 14 (1932) had tyre size 4.75x18
- Rover Speed Pilot (1933) had tyre szie 4.75x18
- Rover Meteor 16 (1933) had tyre size 5.50x18
- Rover 10 (1933 to 1940) had tyre size 4.75x18
- Rover Speed 14 (1934 to 1935) had tyre size 4.75x18
- Rover Speed16 (1934 to 1935) had tyre size 5.50x18
- Rover Speed 25 (1934 to 1935) had tyre size quoted 5.50x18
