Saab - Saab 95
The Saab 95 was produced from 1959, which was a 2 door Estate car capable of carrying 7 people, which had the seat that could be raised up from the floor. The earliest cars had the front opening "suicide" doors, but these were soon changed. The Saab 95 started life with a 2 stroke engine of larger capacity (841cc), with an interesting free wheeling device to enable free wheeling downhill to ensure the engine would not seize. The Saab 95 eventually got fitted with a more conventional engine by 1967, using the 1498cc Ford V4, as fitted to the Ford Taunus, a well established engine that had been in service with Ford for five years. For the export USA models the larger Ford 1700cc engine was used, in detuned format. Production of the Saab 95 carried on until 1978.
Saab 95 tyre size was 155R15 originally. Blockley produces a good speed rated steel belt construction period correct 155HR15 tyre, as well as a Whitewall version of this 155HR15. We list the slightly larger 165R15 size also, because some customers ask for this size. Full details of the Saab 95 tyres at the links beow:
