Salmson - British Salmson

Production of the British Salmson started in 1934 based on the French S4C 1500cc Salmson, all cars having twin overhead cam engines which were gradually enlarged with the to 1600 and 1700cc with the 14 models of 1937 and 1938 which also had an independent front suspension. British Salmson ceased all car production at the start of the war in 1939

Tyre sizes for the British Salmson models:

- British Salmson S4C , 12/55 (built 1934 to 1938) was fitted with 4.75x18 tyres, and Blockley produces the perfect 450/500x18 tyre to suit.

- British Salmson 12/70 (built 1934 to 1936) was also fitted with 4.75x18 tyres and Blockley produces the 450x/500x18 tyres to suit.

- Six cylinder British Salmson 20/90 built from 1936 and the 14 (built in 1936) were both fitted with 6.25x16 tyres and the L section 5.50x16 tyre is the perfect replacement.

- The smaller engined British Salmson 14 built in 1938 was fitted with 500x18 tyres, and the Blockley 450/500x18 would be the size to use.
