Simca - Simca Ariane
The Simca Ariane was introduced in 1957, quoted as the large car with the small 1.3 litre engine, an existing design that was put into production no doubt in response to the Suez crisis, which led to new taxation band to penalise cars with larger capacity engines. But there was a Ariane V8 version, using the 2.4 litre Vedette engine originally designed by Ford, and the "Ariane 8" were built between 1958 and 1961. Simca Ariane production went to 1963.
