Skoda - Skoda Octavia & Felicia
The Skoda Octavia was produced from 1959. The name Octavia was used to denote the eighth model of car that had been built under the Communist nationalised Skoda factory. The Octavia was the first Skoda to have coil springs, all previous Skoda's having leaf springs, and there was a Octavia TS version that was fitted with twin carburettors. Engines were a 4 cylinder 1.1 litre (50 bhp) or 1.2 litre (55 bhp), and the estate body version always had the larger engine size. Skoda Octavia production continued on to 1964.
The Skoda Felicia was the open top sportier version of the Octavia, with body styling by Ghia of Turin which had either either a folding top or a removable hard top. Again, the Felicia production mirrored the Octavia during the 1959 to 1964 production period.
Skoda Octavia and Skoda Felicia tyre size was originally 5.50x15 which is radial equivalent to 155R15. Blockley produces the superb 155HR15 tyre in standard as well as whitewall option. But from 1962 the Skoda Octavia was fitted with tyre size 5.90x15 which is radial equivalent 165R15, which Blockley also produces, with a high quality excellent speed rated steel belt construction 165VR15 tyre.
