Toyota - Toyota Celica
The Toyota Celica was a 2 door fixed head coupe was built on the platform of Toyotas Carina, and built primarily for the American market from 1971. The Celica was to compete in the same market sector as the earlier Ford Mustang. Initially 1.9 litre capacity, it was quickly increased to 2 litres. From 1975 the new 2.2 litre was introduced, which at the same time overcame some of the unreliability of the earlier engines. This first generation of cars were built to 1977.
The second generation of Celica was produced from 1978 to 1981, again as a 2 door, with bodywork designed by Toyotas California research centre.
Toyota Celica tyre size ranged from 5.60x13 on the 1406cc 86hp model to 6.45x13 on the 1600cc 100hp model, both models of which would now fit the radial 165R13 tyre size. For the more powerful models of Celica the factory tyre sizes were 165SR14 (on a 14" wheel) and a wider section 185/70HR13. Blockley produces all three of these Toyota Celica tyre sizes, all with a steel belt correct period, high speed rated tyres. We also list below a wider version of the standard 165R14 tyre size which is 185/70VR14 for those wanting this wider tyre, this 14" wheel being the fitment on the Celica 2000 models coming in 1978. See full details of all these tyres below:
For the USA supplied Celica, which were all 2.3 litre capacity (Celica LT economy model, Celica ST and Celica GT) again the tyre sizes fitted from the showroom were either 165R14 or the wider 185/70R14, so we list our 185/70VR14 tyre also.
