Triumph - Triumph 2000 &2.5PI
The Triumph 2000 was available from late 1963, latterly joined by the larger capacity 2.5PI, the PI standing for petrol injection, courtesy of Lucas. After 6 years of production the Mk2 version took over, again styled by Michelotti, with the Mk2 Triumph 2000 and 2.5PI joined by the normally aspirated Triumph 2500TC and in 1975 by the Triumph 2500S ( which replaced the 2.5PI ) . Production continued to 1977 after which British Leyland replaced these Triumphs with the Rover range.
Tyre sizes for Triumph 2000 and 2.5PI (Mk1 and Mk2) were quoted in period as 6.50x13, 175R13 and 185R13. The Avon fitment data at the time quotes the original fitment for the 2.5PI as 185/70SR13. A good tyre size we would recommend for these Triumph 2000 and 2.5PI is this same 185/70R13 size, and Blockley makes the perfect 185/70VR13 tyre - see full details below:
