Triumph - Triumph TR5

Looking much like its predecessor, the Triumph TR5 had the larger 6 cylinder 2.5 litre engine, fitted with Lucas fuel injection, and producing 150bhp, which required the TR5 to have larger brakes. This was the first British production car to be sold with fuel injection. The TR5 was made for a short period spanning the years 1967 and 1968. However for the American market, due to the strict emissions rules coupled with trying to keep the price down, the TR5 was not fitted with the fuel injection, but instead a pair of Stromberg carburettors. This was called the Triumph "TR250" model in the USA, the American specification cars having some 40bhp less than its European counterpart.

For the Triumph TR5 (and USA version called TR250) wire wheels were offered only as an optional extra. Triumph factory fitment tyre size was 165R15, but for those who want a wider version of this tyre (with the same diameter) we produce the 185/70VR15 size. Blockley produce both these tyre sizes with a period correct, steel belt construction with excellent speed rating which will improve the handling and ride of these cars - guaranteed - see full details of these tyres below:
