Vanden Plas Princess (1959 - 1961)

The Princess 3 litre was badged as a marque on its own, and was based on the Austin A99 Westminster with its Pininfarina designed body altered  at the front having a different almost square grille. These cars had a high level of finish, with all extras as standard such as leather seats and so on. From 1961 the Vanden Plas Princess 3 litre Mk2 was increased in power now with a longer wheelbase and suspension improvements, produced until 1964. For 1965 the car was altered considerably and fitted with a larger all alloy 4 litre unit developed by Rolls Royce (and later used in the RR Silver Cloud), the new Vanden Plas Princess 4 litre R came with a list price considerably above the previous 3 litre! Production lasted to 1968.

Vanden Plas Princess Mk1 (1959 to 1961) tyre size was originally quoted as 7.00x14, which is the radial tyre equivalent size of 185R14. Blockley produce this 185HR14 in both standard and whitewall versions in this size - see full details below:
