Vauxhall - Vauxhall 20/60
The Vauxhall 20/60 was built after Vauxhall had been taken over by the American General Motors in 1927. The 20/60 was a direct replacement for the previous 14/40 model. The 20/60 had a 6 cylinder engine of initially 2762cc which was later enlarged to 2916cc for 1930. The 20/60 was designed to be a lot of motorcar and list priced at what appeared to be a very low list price. It is said that the design was completed prior to anything to do with the General Motors 1925 take over, but it is doubtful G.M. were not involved in the specification, so there may be confusion over the highly expensive sleeve valve 25/70 model that Vauxhall had been working on. There was a sportier 2 seater version of the Vauxhall 20/60 with lightened crankshaft and other details which was marketed as the Vauxhall Hurlingham.
Vauxhall 20/60 tyre size was originally 5.25x21 and Blockley makes the perfect 5.25x21 tyre. Later models were fitted with a 20" wheel and Blockley make a 20" tyre that is suitable. See full details of these tyres below:
