Vauxhall - Vauxhall Cavalier
The Vauxhall Cavalier was the family saloon that was produced between 1975 and 1995. The first 1896cc model of Cavalier was based on GM's Opel Ascona, this Vauxhall also being built at the Opel plant in Belgium, along with a later 1584cc model. By mid 1977 Vauxhall Cavalier production started to move to Luton, followed by the 1300cc version of the Cavalier being built there, which used the well tried Viva engine. For 1978 the 1900cc Cavalier was replaced with a 2 litre engine. The Cavalier Mk2 was introduced in 1981 which continued in production to 1988, this Cavalier being identical to it's European Opel Ascona C counterpart. The Cavalier came with 4 engine sizes, these being 1300cc , 1600cc , 1800cc and 2 litre.
Tyre sizes for the Vauxhall Cavalier was 165R13 for the smaller engined cars, but for the bulk of the Cavalier models Vauxhall fitted the wider 185/70R13 tyre size. Blockley produces both these period correct tyre sizes with 165HR13 and the wider 185/70VR13 which are perfect for the Cavalier. See full details of these tyres below:
