Volkswagen - Volkswagen Golf

The VW Golf was produced from 1974 and was the long awaited replacement for the Beetle, built as a 3 door Hatchback with front wheel drive. The now famous Bosch fuel injected 1600cc Golf GTi came along from 1976. For 1983 the altogether larger and therefore heavier Mk2 Golf was introduced, while the GTi version was increased in capacity to 1800cc, with a 16 valve version available from 1985.

Tyre size for the lower powered 1.1 litre Golf was 145R13, and Blockley produce this high quality 145R13 tyre size. This tyre would cover the models of Golf 1.1N, 1.1L , 1.1GL

Any other Mk.1 Golf model fitted with 13" wheels would be using the 175/70R13 tyre size. This includes the Golf S and LS plus Golf GTi Mk1 which first appeared in 1976 that was fitted with the tyre size 175/70R13, a size that continued into the later 1.8 litre version. Blockley have produced a new steel belted 175/70VR13 size which is the perfect fitment. This 175/70R13 size was continued for the MK2 Golf for the 1.6 and 1.8 litre models.
